Silicon carbide furnace tube Of course, they’re quite common in our daily lives. Since their advantages are particularly prominent, more and more people choose to use them. Today, we’ll take this opportunity to introduce you to the key points for using silicon carbide furnace tubes. If you’re curious, hurry up and take a look!

There’s quite a bit of basic information we need to understand before using silicon carbide furnace tubes—after all, there are many technical aspects involved. For instance, silicon carbide furnace tubes boast characteristics such as high density, watertight and gas-tight properties, corrosion resistance, acid- and alkali-resistance, high-temperature tolerance, resistance to deformation, and long service life—just as always. For solutions containing copper, aluminum, zinc, alloys, and the like, the inner diameter of the holes should be 1.4 to 1.6 times the cold outer diameter. If the fit is too tight, it will impede the free expansion and contraction of the silicon-carbon tube when heated, potentially leading to fracture of the rod. When installing the silicon-carbon tube through rod holes on both sides of the furnace wall, it must be able to rotate freely by 360 degrees; striking or hammering during installation is strictly prohibited. At this point, you should know that this feature is essential. Before inserting the rod, make sure to use an iron pipe with the same diameter as the silicon-carbon furnace tube. However, the operating temperature for this product is 1600°C, so it cannot be used for extended periods inside this particular furnace. The normal operating temperature is 1450°C. Precautions for using silicon-carbon tubes: 1. Silicon-carbon tubes are hard and brittle, with limited elastic deformation capability. Therefore, extra care must be taken during installation and removal to avoid breakage or injury. Under no circumstances should the tubes be allowed to undergo any forced expansion or contraction; mechanical stress must be completely avoided.
The aging and service life of silicon carbide furnace tubes are closely related to the operating temperature. Typically, these tubes can operate for around 1,500 working hours at a temperature of 1,300℃ ± 50℃. At this temperature, the material being heated must not contain excessive moisture, as high moisture levels can shorten the lifespan of the silicon-carbon tube; heating should only be carried out after the material has been thoroughly dried. Additionally, when in use, it is not advisable to operate the tube in a protective atmosphere such as hydrogen. Under conditions of insufficient oxygen supply, carbon monoxide can also cause carbon decomposition, thereby affecting the service life of the silicon carbide tube. Moreover, the surface charge characteristics of the tube vary with temperature: at 1,300℃, the surface charge density is 6 W/cm², while at 1,000℃ it rises to 30 W/cm². Selecting an appropriately matched heating power can help extend the tube's service life. Silicon carbide furnace tube The service life. In particular, for this product, before installing the silicon carbide furnace tube, you should thoroughly clean the space between the inner and outer tubes of the furnace chamber. Remove any debris that might accumulate in the threads of the silicon carbide tube or anywhere else that could cause a short circuit. Tighten the connections at the conductive clamps, and ensure that the insulating parts are reliably insulated. Once installation is complete, you can turn on the oven and start it up at low temperature and low power for 8 hours. Before long-term disuse, be sure to store the oven indoors—especially in humid regions of southern China.
